Dr. Mohammed Haider
Ali Miah started as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on the very date
of 25th July 2012. Three years have already been passed. Though
every era experiences the taste of failure and success grossly we can say that for
him it was an epic story.
Banking requires
experiences. There are many people who have experiences. But to be an MD and
CEO a person needs some extra ordinary things. Among them
“courage to be an MD and CEO” is the first and foremost.Mr. Haider always had
it.
As a banker he started
hiscareer in February1984. Starting as aprobationaryofficer he was raised at
the post of Assistant Vice President there. During his long working period of almost
16 years, he discharged his duties as manager of Local Office and head of
Foreign ExchangeDepartment.Besides he performed in different desks which need
not to be mentioned.
Mr. Haider joined
in Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Ltd on 13/04/2000 as Vice President. He was promoted to the post of senior Vice President
just after one year. He became Executive Vice President on 13/04/2004 and SeniorExecutive
Vice president on 13/04/2007.
His firstbig break
came on 01/07/2008 when he was appointed as DeputyManagingDirector. His journey
continued and he was awarded the post of Additional Managing Director on 01/03/2011.
The owners of
the bank and all the Directors and Sponsors always had confidence on him.He always
tried to evaluate the value of their faith. Good deeds always awarded. He was appointed
as MD and CEO on 25/7/2012.It was nothingbut the fulfillment of a cherisheddesire.
He has already
completed three years of his mission. At the time of his taking over the responsibilitybank
had…….branches. The amount of deposit was ………………and the investmentwas………….Bank generated
an amount of profit of………….at the end of year 2011.
Now the position
of the bank has been changed. It has 89 branches now. Its deposit is Tk.
2000.00crore and Investment is Tk. 18,000.00crore. The bank has generated an
amount of profit of Tk. 619.00 crore at the end of the year 2014. The achievement
is tremendous. His all-outeffort never faded.
He is a man of unbelievablezeal.
All the things in him are nothing but a positive thinking. These all stuffs
made him making possible for achieving the goal of his institution. EXIM Bankis
counted as one of the top ranked banks in the county.He succeeded to generalize
his personal dreams. His extra ordinary lies here.
A long essay can
be writtenon him and hisglorious life. As a student he was studious. As a teen
he was a freedom fighter. As a banker he is successful. As a man he is better
thanour description.His legacy is exercised. It does not requirefurther discussion.
As an MD and
CEO, he has completed three years in a row. He never thinksthat he has done a
lot. He always thinks that he has just started his journey. Still he has miles
to go before he sleeps.This is the mantra of his grand success.
A polite man
with great achievement and much recognition is rarely found. His life is full of
awards and certificates.But it does not make him exhausted.He starts his every
working day with great passion and fashion. Here lies bless. Here lies heaven
on earth.
